Studio Konzert - Marco Zanoli 2020

At long last a return to a technique which doesn't rely on many of the "tricks" which modern recording offers, concentrating rather on capturing the most fundamental and important elements of a performance. No second chances by means of re-takes, multi-tracking, overdubbing, re-mixing or extensive post-production. The whole event is captured live onto analogue tape - warts and all - before being transcribed to disc. This is the core philosophy of the "Studio Konzert". Such an approach demands a great deal of skill and concentration from musicians and technicians alike, combined with a willingness to accept the fact that the performance may not be 100% perfect. But with no "undo" feature avaiable there is the added bonus and excitement of the unexpected and spontaneous. One really must admire those musician who take on the challange of performing live and, as one might say, without a safety net. Their reward  is to enjoy the experience an entirely different and much closer spirit of togetherness in their work.
